Taiwan Day 1

Day 1:
Once we reached the airport we quickly went to buy the sim card. There are few choices of brand but their price and package is roughly the same so we just get the Taiwan Mobile 台湾大哥大.
We choose plan D for 7 Days pass with unlimited data usage and NT$150 talktime which cost us NT$500. We need to buy as we need to use GPS to find the places since we are walking by ourselves and just in case if we are lost we can still find our location and we can still contact each other if we are separated.

After buying the sim card, I went to buy the easy card 悠悠卡 which cost NT$300 (NT$200 for usage and NT$100 for deposit- the deposit is if you return it you will get back the money but we just keep it as we will surely visit Taiwan again) as we needed it for the public transport.
Since we arrived at night time so there's nothing much that we could do. We just took a taxi to our hotel, Hue-Yue Hotel 花语旅馆. It cost NT$570 from airport to the hotel if I'm not mistaken. So here it is. The room for 2 person was NT$1280 but since we are 3 person they charged us another NT$300 with an extra bed so total for the stay is NT$1580.
The entrance door.
The bedroom type.
This is our room.
The washroom / toilet.
With bathtub.
Before we entered our room, the receptionist asked whether we need a taxi to the HSR (High Speed Railway) station 高铁站 and the cost is NT$500. We told him we'll think about it first as in our mind was like wasn't the station not far from the hotel and that's why we choose that hotel. Then we went up to our room and settle our things down. And went out for a walk after that. We search the train station that is nearby and follow the GPS to the station. Half way we stopped by a 7-11 shop and bought the tea leaf egg (don't know what is it called in English so I direct translate..haha) 茶叶蛋, eating while walking to the station. When we reach the station it's really not that far, we walked in and asked the counter whether that station is for HSR and they said no is a lot more far than here. Alright, that minute we were shocked I can say and were mistaken when we booked the hotel. Then we walked back sadly and just asked the receptionist to help us to book a taxi for tomorrow. So, our lesson for the day, just listen to the local hotel receptionist, they are just trying to help and make our life easier. Haha.
